“After realizing how crucial and dependent the Voice was to Piano, it only made sense to sit down and learn. Little did I know, I would grow to love the instrument!”

Meghan Krish

Meghan Krish is a mezzo-soprano with her bachelor’s degree in vocal performance under the instruction of Melanie Sonnenberg at the University of Houston’s Moore’s school of music. She is also a member of the world-renowned choral ensemble concert chorale under the direction of Betsy Cook Weber.

She has appeared in Moore’s opera center production of Offenbach’s Orpheus in the underworld and Menotti’s Amelia al Ballo. She recently performed as a trio member in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, and as Mrs. Herring in Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring. She participated in the Texas Music Festival’s institute of voice studies and coached with Richard Bado and Nova Thomas.

As a teacher, Meghan primarily focuses on studying classical voice but also teaches piano from beginner to intermediate levels. She studied piano throughout the majority of her youth and wishes to share that knowledge with young musicians. In addition to teaching and performing, she works as a staff singer at Friendswood United Methodist. Meghan’s favorite aspect of music education is finding ways to show students how to use their talents and build confidence in their musicianship. At Houston piano company she hopes to teach students how useful and fun music can be!”
